About Doua Design

CUSTOM LIGHTING MANUFACTURER

FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED SINCE 2020

Building on the legacy of Coronet Lighting (founded in 1947), we founded DOUA Design in San Luis Obispo, California during a period of uncertainty, working tirelessly to meet our customers’ lighting needs at a time when many others could not. We thought innovatively, responded quickly, and put our customers first.

As we grew, we recognized the need to build a more resilient and competitive supply chain. This vision led us to establish a sustainable, socially responsible, nearshore manufacturing facility in El Salvador. With a Salvadorian-American team, led by partner Rene Chavez, we became first movers in lighting production there, combining design expertise with hands-on manufacturing. This integration has allowed us to offer industry-leading lead times, uncompromising quality, and highly competitive pricing.

Today, our work continues to evolve and push the industry forward. From design to manufacturing, we’re committed to delivering beautiful, functional, and accessible lighting solutions. We’d love to hear from you and look forward to supporting your next lighting project.

How is pricing calculated?

All of the products featured on our website are made to order and fully customizable. Shades, sizes, materials, and finishes can all be tailored to your specifications. We also provide the option to add bases with rocker switches, grounded outlets, or USB ports for enhanced functionality.

Our goal is to create the perfect lamp for you and your customers, which is why pricing varies by design. Whether you’d like a piece exactly as shown or customized to your needs, simply send your specifications to info@douadesign.com and we’ll provide a quote.

FREIGHT

All orders are shipped either freight collect or third party billed. Orders requiring prepaid freight, if accepted, are subject to a handling charge. As freight quotes are estimated, Customer, not DOUA, will not be liable for differences between estimated freight quotes and actual costs.

MINIMUM ORDERS
All prices are predicated upon quantities ordered.

LEAD TIME

Lead time commences upon approval of credit or receipt of deposit. We schedule our production priorities based on date of order. We encourage customers to order early. Although our shipping history is excellent, we will assume absolutely no liability for damages incurred by customer in the event DOUA ships later than the date requested by the customer or a date quoted by DOUA.

EXPEDITING CHARGE

We will try to accommodate “rush” orders without incurring additional costs or at the expense of older orders. We do, however, reserve the right to add a “rush” charge to cover overtime labor and extra handling.

A 50% deposit will be required on all orders before manufacturing begins. It is advisable to order additional quantities, as replacement components may not be available at a later date. Replacement orders may be at higher prices.

CHANGES

If any changes to orders prior to production are requested, the quoted prices are subject to revision. Once production begins the deposit becomes non-refundable. Production begins once parts are ordered or internal production has started.

STORAGE

If a customer requested a delay of a shipping date on an order already in production, the order will be invoiced immediately upon completion. The invoice must be paid per terms as if order shipped on original date. In addition, there may be a storage charge equal to 5% of the invoice amount per week until shipped, which must be paid before shipping.

CLAIMS

All products are inspected a number of times throughout the production process before shipping. At this point, title passes to the customer. Claims for damage or loss must be placed by you with the carrier (within 7 days of receipt of merchandise) at the point of destination and not with DOUA. Please inspect all merchandise immediately. Delivery must be accepted even if there is visible or concealed damage to cartons or if there are shortages. Be sure to note any damages or shortages on delivery receipt. Carrier is responsible for goods damaged or lost in transit.

RETURNS

We will not accept returns for credit. Returns for repair will not be accepted without a written Return Authorization issued by the factory. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.

WARRANTY

DOUA warrants that its products are free of defects in workmanship and materials. Such warranty is in lieu of all other warranties including, without limitation, any implied warranties or merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. DOUA, at its sole option, will repair or replace (F.O.B. shipping point) any DOUA product defective in workmanship or materials. Such repair or replacement is the sole and exclusive remedy against DOUA and is limited to 90 days from the date of shipment. DOUA reserves the right to determine whether to repair or replace. No chargeback or charge for labor or material that doesn’t have DOUA’s prior written approval will be honored, accepted, or paid by DOUA. DOUA will not be responsible for any consequential or incidental damages in connection with any breach of its aforementioned warranty. DOUA reserves the right to have, at its cost, the defective merchandise returned from the customer. DOUA reserves the right to charge the customer for its failure to return defective merchandise if so requested by DOUA.
